Adrian Stark (he/him/his)

Researcher and Writer

Adrian Stark is an aspiring ethnomusicologist and composer from Colorado, who wants to connect the world of music together by promoting its unique stories. They have tales to tell, as old as humanity itself, that have been cultivated by humanity over the centuries through the current day He aspires to bring these stories into the public eye.

Adrian started his musical journey at age 8 when he accompanied his brother to an open house at the Colorado Springs Conservatory, where he fell in love with singing. Following this introduction, he began studying voice, piano, and theory. Then at 10, after watching his first opera, he became passionate about the art of storytelling in classical music, which led to his pursuit of music composition and further vocal training He went on to go to the Interlochen Arts Camp in 2017 for intermediate vocal arts. During the Summers of 2018 and 2019 he went to Interlochen Arts Camp for the high school vocal arts program, in which he sang in Interlochen’s World Youth Honor Choir. He then went to Interlochen Arts Academy for composition in 2019, Where he is currently a senior. Here he studies composition under Dr. Cynthia Van Maanen, voice with John Bragle, and conducting and African music with Dr. Leslie Dunner. Here he was a part of the Interlochen Chamber Singers. Along with Dr. Chip Miller, he has started and leads the Interlochen Non-Western Music Ensemble.
